‘The only time I feel alive is when I’m painting’ – Vincent Van Gogh
- Painting is a form of self-expression. It can be more effective than words to share your emotions, thoughts, and needs.
- Painting is rewarding, as it gives you a sense of fulfilment and accomplishment. You are creating something from start to finish leaving a little piece of yourself in the painting.
- Painting is a stress reliever. As we immerse ourselves in the process of painting and visualising, we let go of our stress and anxiety.
- Painting is good for the brain! It gives us the opportunity to be creative and think outside the square, which we often don’t have the opportunity to do in our everyday lives. Studies have shown that creativity helps to produce dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins, brain chemicals that make you happy!
